RADFORD, Va. - Director of Track & Field
Shelli Sayers has announced the 2021-22 schedule for both indoor and outdoor track. The Highlanders will compete at 14 regular season meets.
Radford kicks off the season early in 2021 with the Roanoke College Kick Off on Dec. 4. The Highlanders will return to action in the new year with back-to-back meets at VMI, with the Keydet Invitational and Winter Relays on Jan. 21-22 and Jan. 28-29, respectively.
February will feature five competitions for the Highlanders, including two trips to Liberty and a return trip to Roanoke. Radford then finishes the 2021-22 indoor regular season at the Virginia Tech Challenge before heading to the JDL Fast Track for the Big South Indoor Championships. The 2022 NCAA Indoor Championships will be held in Birmingham, Ala.
The outdoor season opens with the Fred Hardy Invitational on March 18-19 in Richmond, Va. followed by the Adidas Winthrop Invitational in Rock Hill, S.C. The Highlanders will then travel to Durham, N.C. for the Duke Twilight on April 7-9. The team will then return to Virginia for the JMU Invitational on April 16 and the UVA Challenge on April 22-23 before heading back south to North Carolina for the N.C. A&T Aggie Classic on April 30. Radford will close out the regular season with the UVA Grand Prix on May 1.
Closing the year, the 2022 Big South Outdoor Championships will be hosted by High Point on May 11-13. The NCAA East Regional will be in Bloomington, Ind. May 26-28, followed by the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene Ore. June 9-11.
