Radford Unable to Keep Up Against Ranked Jacksonville

RADFORD, Va. – Radford (0-8) lost a tough match at home against No. 14 Jacksonville (5-0) Sunday afternoon despite Lindsey Carroll's goal and four assists.
Jacksonville got off to a 6-0 start in the game before Radford recorded it's first goal of the game at the 12:10 mark in the first half. Jessica Diorio struck first, with Carroll adding her first assist. Margaret Gleason also added a goal for Radford, which was also assisted by Carroll, at the 8:25 mark to make it an 8-2 Jacksonville lead. To close out the scoring in the first half, while a man up the Highlanders got a goal from Ava Goeller, her fifth of the season.
As a team the Highlanders ripped off 11 shots in the first half with seven coming on goal. Maddie Bowman recorded her first six saves on the match while facing an onslaught of 20 shots from the Dolphins.
Moving on to the second half the Highlanders defense stood strong for most of the half to limit the Jacksonville attack. Carroll added her first goal of the day off a free position shot to make the deficit just 11-4 at the 24:38 mark. The Highlanders' final goal of the match came from the teaming up of Diorio and Carroll once again to make it a 12-5 game.
The Radford defense limited Jacksonville to just 11 shots in the second half with 10 of those coming on goal. Bowman made five saves to keep Jacksonville off the board. Jacksonville also committed 12 turnovers in the second half and failed two clear attempts.
Radford picked up a ton of ground balls in the match with Grace Gleason leading the team picking up seven. Carroll was involved in all five points for Radford with her four assists and one goal, while Margaret Gleason adding five shots of her own on goal. Grace Gleason and Kirsten Grzybowski both led the team in caused turnovers, with two each.
