Radford Falls to No. 23 High Point

HIGH POINT, N.C. – 23rd-ranked High Point scored a pair of goals in both the first and second half, limiting Radford to just five shots in a 4-1 win over the visiting Highlanders Sunday evening at Vert Stadium.
 
Baye Djibril Faye scored his first goal of the season for Radford in the final minutes of the contest. MD Myers bagged a brace for the Panthers, while Alex Abril and Sebastian Chalbaud each scored for the home side.
 
High Point took an early lead on Abril's third of the season, a low shot into the left corner of the net 14 minutes in. The Panthers doubled their lead on Myers' first of the evening, a close-range shot in the 28th minute. High Point took that two-goal lead into halftime.
 
The Panthers continued to put pressure on the Highlanders, and Myers netted his second of the match in stride just six minutes into the second half. Chalbaud scored from close range in the 67th minute to make it 4-0.
 
Faye's goal came in the 89th minute, as he took a cross from Dorion Dixon in stride and beat the keeper high into the center of the goal for his first of the season and third of his career.

Faye has three goals in his Radford career – all three have come in Big South play.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
Incera made three saves in goal for Radford. Patrick Siczek, Toby Squire and Max-Emilios Angelides each played the full 90 minutes for the Highlanders. Faye led the team with two shots.
 
UP NEXT
Radford begins a four-match homestand Thursday against UNC Asheville at 4 p.m.
