 BASEBALL

  • The Highlanders look to bounce back after a tough week against Liberty and USC Upstate.
  • Radford will travel to ETSU for a midweek matchup before traveling to High Point for a weekend series.
  • Sean Cheely leads the team with a .343 batting average through the first 10 games.
  • He and Dac Archer have a team-high 12 hits. Cheely leads with two doubles, two triples and one home run.
  • Anthony Galati and Conner Bagnieski have a team-high six RBIs.
  • ETSU (7-4) has won all three weekend series' but has lost its two midweek games to Clemson and Appalachian State.
  • Ethan Cady leads the team with a .359 batting average, 14 hits and 15 RBIs.
  • High Point has won four straight games – including a sweep of UNC Asheville over the weekend.
  • One of four players batting over .300 in the early stages of the season, Joe Johnson leads the team with a .389 average.

  • Radford has won four in a row after a great offensive showcase that includes 49 hits and scored 35 runs. 18 of the 49 hits were extra base hits.
  • The Highlanders we slated to play Norfolk State at home on Wednesday and Thursday, but that four-game series has been postponed.
 
 VOLLEYBALL

  • The Highlanders look to get back on track after a week off. Radford has dropped three in a row, including nine straight sets.
  • Hailey Flowers has 59 kills, while Samantha Reitz has 54 – the top two on the team.
  • Maddie Lentz has 91 assists and Grace Green has 93, also both team-highs.
  • After dropping four in a row, the Bulldogs won their last four and 12 of their last 15 sets.
  • Peyton McClinton has 83 kills this season, while Grace Volk has 211 assists and 74 digs – all leading the team.

  • Radford remains undefeated at home this season after a 2-1 victory over Campbell on Sunday afternoon.
  • The Highlanders scored two early goals and held on to take down the Camels after surviving a late barrage of shots.
  • Radford will take that momentum to UNC Asheville for a Wednesday matchup then travel down to Gardner-Webb for a Sunday matchup.
  • UNC Asheville hasn't scored a goal all year and lost 1-0 to Campbell and 5-0 to High Point.
  • Gardner-Webb hasn't won or lost two in a row this season and are coming off a 1-0 win over Presbyterian.
  • The Runnin' Bulldogs will face High Point on Wednesday before facing Radford on Sunday.

 
 MEN'S SOCCER

  • The Radford men's soccer team has two games this week – both at Cupp Stadium. The first is against UNC Asheville on Wednesday night and the other is against Winthrop on Sunday.
  • The Highlanders downed VMI 4-1 on Thursday, but fell to No. 23 High Point on Sunday.
  • Pape Oumar Gueye is the only Highlander with multiple goals this season. He leads the team with four points.
  • UNC Asheville won its first two games, but recently fell to Campbell 4-1. They are led by Miles Peay's three points – all from assists.
  • Winthrop is still searching for its first win this season after falling to South Carolina, Campbell, UNC Asheville and USC Upstate.

  • Radford showed fight and spirit in its last two matches last week outscoring their opponents in the second half in both games but coming up just short in the end. 
  • The high level of competition won't let up as Radford searches for its first win of the season against an undefeated Elon and Campbell who was picked to finish second in the Big South preseason poll.
  • Freshman Ava Goeller burst onto the scene for Radford last Saturday against George Mason scoring a team-high three goals and adding an assist and three caused turnovers to her impressive performance.
  • Lindsey Carroll and Grace Gleason also scored multiple goals against George Mason, while Brittany Rinaldi exploded for five goals against Liberty.
  • Maddie Bowman continues to be a wall in front of the net for Radford after recording 16 saves across the two games last week.

  • It's a busy week on the road for the Highlanders who will kick their season into full gear with matches at ETSU, Tennessee State, Tennessee Tech, Belmont, and will finish the week with their Big South opener against Campbell.
  • The Highlanders will be looking to rebound from a tough loss to Liberty last week.
  • Against UNC Greensboro the Highlanders dominated in 6-1 fashion with Demis Taramonlis and Yevhen Sirous showing flashes of their excellence from last year on courts one and two respectively.
  • Radford remains a threat in doubles play with Radford being on pace to win all three courts at UNC Greensboro and competing hard against a Liberty team that is already well into their season.
  • It's a battle of preseason favorites on Saturday as Campbell was picked to finish second in the Big South preseason poll and only came five points behind Radford with two first-place votes of their own. The match will be the first meeting between the two programs since the epic Big South Championships that Radford won 4-2. 
  • Yevhen Sirous and Andres Silva are the only remaining starters from that championship match, while Campbell only has one starter from that match left on their roster.

 
 WOMEN'S TENNIS

  • The beat goes on for the Highlanders as they stick to the road for three matches against Lipscomb, Belmont, and Virginia Tech.
  • Freshmen Salma Loudili continues to be a top contributor for Radford after a hard-fought battle to win court two against Wofford on Sunday.
  • Doubles play will be crucial to Radford's success going forward as Melissa Ifidzhen and Loudili have been a strong force on court one and Malin Falk and Emily Brandow a reliable source of success on court two.
  • Last season the Highlanders fought hard and came up just short against Virginia Tech 2-5, but will look to avenge that loss on the same courts.

   
 WOMEN'S GOLF

  • Radford moves on to its second tournament of the season at the Winthrop Invitational, the second of six tournaments for the Highlanders this season. The Highlanders will be in action in consecutive weeks, as they head to the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate on March 14-16.
  • Radford's top performer last week was Sidney Walker (77-72-82, +15) who helped pace the team to a 29th out 41 teams finish.
  • Jimenna Ramirez (80-91-82, +37) also made her first appearance as a Highlander at the Kiawah Island Classic.
 
 MEN'S GOLF
 

at Seahawk Intercollegiate - Sunday, March 14th - Tuesday, March 16th

  • Radford moves onto its second tournament of the season at the Seahawk Intercollegiate, the second of six tournaments for the Highlanders this season.
  • Last week at the Pinnacle Bank Intercollegiate Radford finished 12th out of 16 teams.
  • The freshman Bobby Dudeck made his Highlander debut and was the top-finisher for Radford at five-over including five birdies on the last day of the tournament.???????
