Radford Falls to Campbell on Thursday Night

RADFORD, Va. – The Radford volleyball team fell in a three-set affair to Campbell on Thursday evening inside the Gore Arena.
 
The Highlanders had a negative hit percentage in the first set after committing eight attack errors. Daria Burrows had for of the team's seven kills in the first set and had a .333 hit percentage. The play picked back up for Radford in the second set.
 
As a team, the Highlanders hit .364 with a match-high 10 kills. However, that was bested by Campbell's .583 hit percentage and 17 kills. Radford was in the thick of it midway through the set and was only down two, 12-10. Campbell scored four straight but Radford battled back.
 
However, the Camels went on a 9-4 run to close out the second set. The third set saw Radford revert back to the opening set with another negative hit percentage and a match-low six kills.
 
Burrows led with six kills, while Kennedi Johnson tallied five and had a team-best .364 hit percentage in the match. Freshman Emma Young tallied three kills, while Grace Green had five digs. Erin Hetherington tallied six assists and led with two aces.
 
Trinity Burge saw her first action since the opening weekend against Gardner-Webb. She tallied a career-high nine assists and saw action in two sets. She also tallied four digs.

Radford wrap up its 2020 season on Friday afternoon at 2 p.m., when it faces Campbell.
