Close Match Slips Away Late Against Charleston Southern

RADFORD, Va. – Radford (5-8, 3-2 BSC) was only down 2-3 against Charleston Southern (6-7, 4-0 BSC) late and eventually came up just short 3-4 Saturday afternoon.

The day began with an impressive showing in doubles play. Salma Loudili and Melissa Ifidzhen were absolutely dominant on court one in a 6-1 win. Charleston Southern evened the point on court three, but it was Radford who took the 1-0 lead in an intense tiebreaker win on court two by Malin Falk and Emily Brandow.
 
Charleston Southern claimed three straight courts to grab a 3-1 lead in singles play, but Radford did not go away quietly. The freshman Loudili picked up another win on court one in decisive fashion 6-4, 6-2.

The Buccaneers clinched the match on court five, however, but Radford got another singles win from Falk on court three 6-2, 4-6, 6-1 before the match ended.

Loudili has won six straight singles matches while Falk is also on a four-match winning streak in singles. The pairing of Falk and Brandow are 4-1 against Big South teams in doubles play this season, tied for team-best with Blalock and Fruehauf also at 4-1.
