CONWAY, S.C. - The Radford University Volleyball team closed out the Chanticleer Classic hosted by Coastal Carolina University with two matches Saturday, going 1-1. The Highlanders ended a five-game skid by taking down UNCW in the final match of the weekend 3-1 (22-25, 25-23, 25-18, 25-23).
Radford v. Coastal Carolina Recap
The Chanticleers used fast starts in the first two games of the match to hold off the Highlanders, 17-25 and 13-25, respectively. After dropping the first two games of the match, Radford was able to squeak out a third game win, 25-23, but were unable to keep the match going further, dropping the final game 15-25.

- Totalled the most attack errors on the season (29) and matched season low hitting percentage (.028).
- Season low service errors (5).
Radford v. UNCW Recap
After dropping the first game of the match in a close one, 22-25, the Highlanders rebounded with a close game victory of their own and carried that moment on to win the final three games of the match. The victory was the first for Radford since August 28 versus Eastern Kentucky.
After dropping the first game, the Highlanders used a fast start, winning the first four points of the second game, to open things up. After holding on to win that game, Radford took control of the next two games, taking down the Seahawks with strong performances across the board.
KEY STATS
- Four Highlanders finished with double-digit points (Morgan Lawson, Taylor O'Neal, Emily Dykes and Kennedi Johnson).
- Additionally, Lawson (18), O'Neal (17) and Dykes (13) all tallied double-digit kills.
- Login Williams nearly crossed the half-century barrier, tallying 46 assists in the match. Williams also led the team with 16 digs.
- Highest hitting percentage of the season at .313
UP NEXT
The Highlanders will travel to Norfolk, Va. for the Old Dominion Collegiate featuring matches against Old Dominion University and Norfolk State University on Sept. 17, and a match against the University of Buffalo on Sept. 18.
