RICHMOND, Va. – The Radford Men's Golf Team caught fire late in the third round of the VCU Shootout on Tuesday, going 8-under par to finish the tournament -14 and tied for 3
rd place. Three Highlanders placed in the top 25 of the 72-golfer field.
All five Highlanders excelled on the day, starting with
Bryce Corbett who shot a five-under par 67 thanks to eight birdies on the final day including four straight at the very end. He tied for 18
th in the tournament overall at -4.
Nicholas Taliaferro shot a 71 to finish the week tied for 11
th at -5, the best of any Radford competitor.
Ryan Neil was also impressive, going for a 70 on Tuesday to bring his score to -1 while in Richmond.
Tyler Hull (+2) and
Hunter Duncan (+3) finished T-32
nd and T-42
nd respectively to round out Radford's scoring.
Squads from all over the Commonwealth of Virginia topped the leaderboards in this tournament, with Richmond (-20) winning the whole thing. VCU's Charlie Kennedy won the individual championship at -12.
