Grace Green Reaches 1,000 Career Digs Against Morehead State

MOREHEAD, Ky. – The Radford Volleyball team's comeback effort fell short, but senior Grace Green reached the 1,000 career digs mark, in a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Morehead State inside Johnson Arena on Saturday afternoon.

The Eagles got off to a fast start, taking a 9-2 lead to begin the first set. The Highlanders dug down deep and battled back with a 14-4 run that pulled the visitors within one, but MSU scored nine of the last 10 points to secure a 25-16 win.

The second set was much of the same and ultimately ended with the same score, 25-16, in favor of Morehead State. Kills from Taylor O'Neal and Kennedi Johnson gave the Highlanders an early lead and then the Eagles took over, going on a 20-5 streak.

For whatever reason, things just seem to click in the third set for Radford. Despite some tough match-ups, the Highlanders are now 5-1 this season in third sets following a 25-16 victory over the Eagles. Johnson and Hailey Flowers fueled a strong attack that may have revealed a blueprint for success going forward.

MSU regained control in the fourth set, earning yet another 25-16 advantage and clinching the overall victory.
