Magson Tabbed as the Big South Freshman of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – After an impressive performance at the Roanoke XC Invitational this past Friday, Sophie Magson has been named the Big South Freshman of the Week, the conference announced this afternoon.
In just her first season of collegiate cross country, Magson put her name into the Highlanders' record book after posting the eighth fastest 6,000-meter time (22:01.0) in the history of Radford's cross country program.
The freshman was named the Big South Runner of the Week back in September after picking up the win at the Lancer Pink Invite. She now has a pair of weekly honors and an individual championship after her first full regular season. Her next race will be for a conference title when she competes in the Big South Championships on Saturday, Oct. 29.
