Women’s Basketball Selected Fourth in Big South Preseason Poll

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – As announced in the 2022-23 preseason poll by the Big South Conference on Wednesday morning, the Radford women's basketball team was selected to finish fourth overall.
The Highlanders received 55 total points with a majority of their votes selecting them to finish in fourth and fifth place, a tally which is voted on by the league's head coaches. Radford finished behind Campbell who earned 86 points and one first-place vote. The team also finished three points ahead of UNC Asheville who was selected to finish in fifth.
Radford returns six players from the 2021-22 squad which includes big-time minutes earners Rachel LaLonde, Jackie Christ and Carmen Williams. The team will see plenty of new additions to its roster including five transfers and four freshmen.
The 2022-23 season is quickly approaching and will tip-off on Monday, November 7th on the road against the reigning SEC Tournament champions Kentucky. Conference play will begin at home for Radford when they host UNC Asheville on Thursday, December 29th. The team's road slate of the conference schedule starts that following weekend with a New Year's Eve battle at Presbyterian.
