Parris' Two-Goal Effort Earns Co-Offensive Player of the Week Honors

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Big South Conference announced Monday afternoon that Kat Parris has been named Big South Co-Offensive Player of the Week. Radford has now collected Big South weekly awards in five of the last six weeks.

Parris ignited for two goals in the Highlanders lone match last week at Winthrop. In the 24th minute, the sophomore collected a shot that rolled away from the goalie and sent it to the back of the net for the 1-0 lead. In the 49th minute, Parris got up with a header deep in the box to double the lead and put Winthrop away for the 2-0 win.

The goals were Parris' third and fourth of the season, moving the Silver Springs, Md. native's season point total to 11 which is third-most on the squad. The weekly award is Parris' first of this season after she collected three weekly awards in her freshman campaign back in 2021. The Highlanders have earned five weekly awards now this fall, just one short of their total of six in 2021.

Parris and the Highlanders are back to conference play with two matches this week. Radford will host USC Upstate on Tuesday, October 4th in a make-up for last Saturday's rained out game. The Highlanders are then back on the road on Saturday, October 8th for a bout with UNC Asheville.
