SERIES HISTORY
The Highlanders and Big Blue have not met before in the regular season. Tuesday's meeting will be the first between the two programs.

SCOUTING THE BIG BLUE
Bluefield State is off to a hot start in their 2022-23 campaign under second-year head coach Paul Davis. The Big Blue sit undefeated at 5-0 with five straight wins on the home court. As a team they're shooting 41.2% overall and 34% from deep. While opponents have shot well against the Big Blue, a strong defensive effort has their opponents turning the ball over an average of 26 times per game.

Aerihna Afoa is the Big Blue's scoring leader through five games averaging 15.0 per game, all off the bench. Within the team's starting five, all players are averaging over 5.0 points per game as well. Starting guard and senior leader Dani Janutolo leads the team on the boards averaging over eight a game with two double-digit rebound performances to her name this season.

BLAKE BREAKS OUT
Vanessa Blake had a break-out performance for the Highlanders last week on the road against UNC Greensboro. The sophomore had the best scoring night of her career finishing the game with a team-best 20 points. Blake did it from the field and from the free throw line, hitting a season-best eight free throws while shooting 75% from the field. Blake pulled down four rebounds and collected two blocks as well, both personal season-highs.

HOME SWEET HOME
After three of the Highlanders' first four games came on the road, the team finally returns home for a long four-game stretch inside the Dedmon Center. Radford will play host to Bluefield State, UNC Wilmington, College of Charleston and Liberty over that stretch. The Highlanders' game against College of Charleston will be the first time the team has hosted Education Day since 2020 with a morning tip set at 11 a.m.

STAY HOT, CLEAN UP POSSESSION
Radford as a team has shot the ball quite well through the early going of this season. The team ranks in the top-five of the Big South for total shooting (41%) and three-point shooting (31%) while also holding opponents to a top-five conference mark in shooting defense (36%) and three-point defense (22%). Radford's turnover margin (-3.5) ranks just seventh in the Big South, however. Winning the turnover battle going forward will be key to the Highlanders' success as it's just one of two categories the team ranks seventh or lower in the conference.
