SERIES HISTORY
The Highlanders and Wildcats have met up twice in the historic span of both programs. The first meeting in 1988 came down to the wire as Kentucky won 89-83. In 2016, the 19th ranked Wildcats were victorious once again. Janayla White and Destinee Walker led the Highlanders with six points each while White also pulled down 11 rebounds.

SCOUTING THE WILDCATS
Kentucky was tabbed to finish seventh in the talented SEC by media voters in this year's preseason poll. While the team saw departures of its two leading scorers that combined for an average of 37 points per game last season, an injection of young talent and transfers similar to Radford is sure to have the Wildcats as a team to keep an eye on in the SEC.

Sophomore Jada Walker, a Richmond, Va. native, will be the team's leading returner in the scoring department after averaging 10.4 points per game last year. The 6-2 forward Adebola Adeyeye grad transferred to Kentucky after averaging 4.8 points and 5.1 rebounds per game in 116 games played with Buffalo. The Wildcats also added transfers Maddie Scherr (Oregon) and Eniya Russell (South Carolina).

KEPT IT 100 AGAINST ROANOKE
In an exhibition against Roanoke College last Thursday the Highlanders' offense power was on full display as the team won 100-51. The Highlanders shot a blistering 50% on the night while holding Roanoke to just a 30% shooting percentage. Plenty of Highlanders saw playing time in the team's first action in front of the home crowd this season.

A MIX OF NEW AND OLD
The Highlanders production this year will be defined by a mix of new and old faces to the program. The team returns some of its biggest minutes-collectors from 2021-22 in Rachel LaLonde and Jackie Christ with both looking to step up into big leadership roles in their senior seasons.

On the other end, an abundance of talent from the freshman class and transfers is sure to have a positive impact on the program. Ashlyn Traylor and Olivia Wagner will look to make an impact in their debut seasons while transfers Ashley Panem, Trinity Klock and Zahra Daniel will be names to keep an eye on.
