HILTON HEAD, S.C. – After shooting 302 in the first round, the Radford men's golf team posted a 295 in the second round and a spectacular 284 in the third round to finish seventh at the 2022 Wexford Intercollegiate.
The Highlanders sat in 12
th out of 17 teams following the first 18 holes, but shaved seven strokes off their score over the next 18 to enter the top-10. They really caught fire in the third round though, shooting a 284 which was the second-best round recorded by any team in the field this week.
Tyler Hull finished tied for 10
th out of 90 golfers, shooting +1 overall (74-72-71). The Toronto, Canada native tallied 11 birdies across three rounds, including five in the third round alone.
Nicholas Taliaferro was extremely consistent from start-to-finish, tying for 21
st with a +4 (74-74-72). He would have jumped all the way into the top-10 and broke even if it wasn't for a quadruple bogey on the par-4, 415-yard 16
th hole during the second round.
Bryce Corbett ended tied for 31
st at +6 (76-71-75). The sophomore dominated in the second round, recorded five birdies for a -1.
Hayden Miller spent the first two rounds trying to find his groove again after a great Fall debut and did so in the third round, shooting a -2, 70. He climbed 21 spots up the leaderboard on the final day and finished the tournament tied for 48
th with a +10 (78-78-70).
It was a similar story for
Patrick Gareiss, who tied for 60
th (+14) after shooting 80 in the first round, 79 in the second round, and a much-improved 71 in the third round.
