Radford Drops First Match at Charlotte

RADFORD, Va. – Radford (1-1) fell to Charlotte (3-2) Sunday afternoon 7-0 with a couple of hard fought battles highlighting the match despite the Highlanders being down some key players.
In doubles play the Highlanders were competitive but came up short on all three courts. Demis Taramonlis made his season debut on court one with his typical doubles partner Andres Silva with the duo coming up just short in a 5-7 loss.
In singles play, Charlotte was able to claim three straight courts to take the 4-0 clinching score. Radford would continue to battle on the three remaining courts and almost claim two points. Taramonlis came close on court one as he went toe-to-toe with Charlotte's top player 6-4, 5-7, 1-6. Robert Hagen also almost won on court five, falling late 6-3, 4-6, 1-6.

The Highlanders won't be back in action until next week when they travel to Williamsburg, Va. to face William & Mary next Sunday.
