MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Radford men's golf team shot 283 (-1) and 292 (+8) in the first two rounds of Appalachian State's Bash at the Beach on Monday.
The performance gives the Highlanders six straight rounds below the 300-mark dating back to the first round of the Wexford Intercollegiate. In a strong field, the +7 team score puts Radford in 10
th place heading into the final round.
Fresh off of a Big South Golfer of the Week award, sophomore
Bryce Corbett was on fire in the first round, shooting a season-best 65 (-6). He then shot 73 (+2) in the second round and is tied for 8
th out of 99 competitors.
Junior
Patrick Gareiss posted a 72 in the first round before an even better 70 in the second round, finishing the day with five birdies.
Tyler Hull,
Nicholas Taliaferro, and
Ryan Neil had nearly identical days on the course, all ending their 36-hole expedition tied for 67
th at 7-over par.
