RADFORD, Va. – The Radford women's lacrosse team fell 18-8 to VCU at home on Wednesday, dropping their record to 0-6 on the season.
Â
It was a game of runs as the Rams jumped out to a halftime lead before the Highlanders went on a 5-0 run in the third quarter to cut the deficit to three. A strong rally in the fourth was enough, however, as VCU was able to pull away.
Â
Even in defeat there were plenty of highlights on the day for Radford.
Margaret Gleason scored her first career hat trick,
Jessica Diorio scored multiple goals for the second game in a row and
Ashlyn Grogan scored her first goal of the season. Taylor Roghan added her first career goal while
Katie Carroll's tally opened up the scoring for the Highlanders.
Â
WHAT'S NEXT?
The Highlanders will hit the road for a tilt with the Akron Zips on Sunday at 11 a.m.
