ST. SIMON'S ISLAND, Ga. – The Radford men's golf team earned a runner-up finish and sophomore Bryce Corbett tied for third individually at the Sea Palms Invitational on Saturday.
 
The Highlanders led the entire field of 19 teams heading into the third round, and proceeded to shoot their best round of the tournament, but were ultimately supplanted by Wright State which shot a blistering 10-under par to take the team title. Radford's second-place team finish marks their best performance of the spring and their most notable since winning the Highlander Invitational this past fall.
 
Corbett took a podium finish thanks to a superbly consistent performance that made him one of just four golfers out of 104 to stay under par for the tournament. The Gainesville, Va. native posted back-to-back 70's to end the weekend at -2 and tallied a total of 11 birdies.
 
Tyler Hull continued his stead ways with a 73 in all three rounds for a +6. After a first 18 holes that featured five birdies, three bogeys, and a double bogey, the senior settled down and closed strong to tie for 13^th.
 
Both Nicholas Taliaferro and Patrick Gareiss tied for 31^st, shooting +9. Gareiss took time to adjust to the course, but shaved several strokes off his first-round 77 to record a 73 in round two and a 72 in the final round. Taliaferro's toughest moments came in the second round before bouncing back and playing really well over the final trip through the course.
 
Feeding off of his teammates, Hayden Miller also had his best 18-hole stretch in the final round. He hit the bottom of the cup for birdie on three out of six holes at one point.
