Davidson Named Co-Starting Pitcher of the Week

RADFORD, Va. — Radford starting pitcher Zach Davidson was named the Big South Co-Starting Pitcher of the Week for games played Apr. 11-17, the league office announced Monday afternoon.

Davidson pitched a gem in Saturday's 3-0 win over High Point, tossing a complete-game shutout while allowing only two hits and walking none. The junior from Hartsburg, Mo. was very economical, needing just 95 pitches to record 27 outs.

After a single in the bottom of the third, Davidson retired the final 19 batters of the game. He allowed only three hitters to reach base safely, earning his first win of the season.

It was Radford's first complete game since Andrew Nardi accomplished the feat on May 23, 2019, and the first shutout since Danny Hrbek's no-hitter against Quinnipiac on Mar. 4, 2017.

LOOKING AHEAD
Radford will return home this week as they host No. 8 Virginia Tech on Wednesday. First pitch is slated for 6 p.m., and the game can be streamed on ESPN+.
