BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Hannah Moran wrapped up her season with a 16:59.26 performance in the 5,000m at the NCAA East Preliminary Round Saturday. Saturday's race brings to an end one of the greatest years ever for a Radford distance runner.
Â
N.C. State star Katelyn Tuohy kept things honest in the Moran's heat of the 5,000m, leading seven runners under the facility record and eight under 16 minutes. To punch a ticket to Eugene for nationals, it required an extraordinary effort and meant that a fair few quality runners missed the cut. Despite continuing to battle illness, Moran closed her season, and her collegiate outdoor career with a strong showing in an historically fast race.
Â
Moran ends her season with Radford records at 1,500m, 5,000m and 10,000m outdoors after rewriting the record books indoors and on the cross country course. Moran set the Big South record at 10,000m before winning the conference title in the event and placing 36
th earlier in the week at the East Prelims.
Â
More than her records and championships, Moran led a rejuvenate year in Radford distance running which saw the record books shredded and rewritten time and again.
