RADFORD, Va. – Radford Athletics has announced the hiring of
Matt Harman '14 as the Assistant Athletics Director for Business Development.
A proud alumnus of Radford University, Harman played under Head Coach
Mike Grant on the men's golf team from 2010-2014, serving as a team captain as a junior and senior. He graduated in the spring of 2014 with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration.
"I want to thank
Robert Lineburg,
Cory Durand, and their staff for the opportunity to return to Radford University as the Assistant Athletic Director For Business Development," said Harman. "Radford University is a special place that provided support, development, and numerous memories during my time as a student-athlete. I'm excited to continue the great work Jon Zeitz has done and help grow Radford Athletics for years to come. Go Highlanders!"
In his role with the Highlanders, Harman will be responsible for the overall athletic department corporate sponsorship program including new sales, renewal of existing accounts, activation, achievement of sales goals, and consistent relationship building within the community.
Harman won't have far to go as his most recent stop was as the Manager of Data & Analytics for Learfield at Virginia Tech. There, he developed and managed date studies, data warehouse and visualization platforms, CRM, and business intelligence tools for Virginia Tech Athletics.
Prior to that, he served as an Associate General Manager at the University of Iowa and as a Senior Account Executive at West Virginia University, both within the Learfield family. He worked with select contracted partners, overseeing sales planning and day-to-day sales team operations at both schools, and generated more than $3 million in new ticket revenue for the Mountaineers.
Harman's education continued after Radford as he earned a master's of science in Sport Management from West Virginia University in 2015. He then went on to secure an executive certificate for Non-Profit Development from the University of Notre Dame in 2017.
