Par 5 Success Helps Radford Take 4th at River Run Collegiate

DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Radford men's golf team shot a 296 in the third and final round to take 4th place out of 17 teams at Davidson's River Run Collegiate on Tuesday.
Entering the day within striking distance of title contention, the Highlanders played well but were passed by a pair of teams in the standings, just missing out on a podium spot.
Bryce Corbett was excellent all tournament, post a -2 with a scoreline that reads 70-71-73 across three rounds to tie for 3rd. Radford had the best score of any team in the field on Par 5's, shooting 16-under with an average score of 4.73 and Corbett was a big part of that, posting the second-best score of any individual on Par 5's.
Nathan Piatt took the second spot for Radford, tying for 32nd at 5-over par. He ended his trip to Davidson with a 75 on Tuesday, including a birdie on his second hole.
Top spots separated Nicholas Taliaferro (T-43rd, +7) and Patrick Gareiss (T-53rd, +10) this time around. Taliaferro had a steady final trip through the course with one birdie and three bogeys while Gareiss took a rollercoaster ride, carding four birdies, three bogeys, and one triple bogey.
Bobby Dudeck's day went similarly to Gareiss's as he tallied a trio of birdies that were ultimately erased due to a number of tough results.
Playing as an individual, Channing Blevins shot a 76-79-78 (+17) and tied for 77th.
