David Goode Leads All in the Bryan National Collegiate as the Highlanders Finish Runner Up

THE BREAKDOWN
Goode's weekend was one to write home about and then some as the newcomer had a crazy turn around in his second collegiate tournament finishing in first place in the Bryan National Collegiate 13-under par to lead the Highlanders and the entire field. Goode came into day one in good form, shooting 70 (-2) for what would be his lowest score of the weekend. Onto the second round, Goode would continue his play highlighted by not one but two eagles on holes six and 10. A double bogie on hole 16 was the only blemish on Goode's score as he would finish the round in 69 strokes (-3) to head into the third round of play five under par. Goode's last round wouldn't just be the best round of his Collegiate, but the best round out of any player in the Collegiate. As Goode would shoot an absurd eight-under par for a score of 64. With a final score of 203, Goode would lead all players as he helmed Radford's second place finish.

CJ Peterson would also start the tournament on fire with the sophomore being perfect in the first round, in not having a single hole under par. Highlighted by an eagle on the 492-yard hole 15, Peterson would end the day a strong six-under par for a score of 66 finishing tied in first place across all players. In the second round Peterson would see a step back as he ended the second round with a score of 76, four over par. On the final round Peterson would even things out with a good round going one-over to finish the round at 73. Peterson would place a second best on the team in T-13^th overall finishing one-under par.

Following in Goode's footsteps, Jett Leard would shine in his second bout of action this season. Leard would place third best on the team behind his freshman counterpart and Peterson with a score of 216 even to place T-16^th overall at the Bryan National Collegiate. Leard was not lighting up the score card but constantly played even finishing with oly seven bogies across all three rounds. With a 72 on day one and a 71 on the first round of day two followed by a 73 on the second round, Leard would finish with a solid overall preformance.

Will Giaquinto would make his first appearance for the Highlanders in his sophomore campaign as he would finish tied for 42nd overall. Giaquinto had some trouble in the first round with the sophomore stroking 75 on the first 18 holes to end three over par. On day two Giaquinto would break even on the first round shooting a 72 and a 74 on the second round to end with a final score of 221. Benson Blevins and Dalton Sisneros would round out the Highlanders competing with Blevins in T-55th place, followed by Sisneros in T-81^st place.

UP NEXT
The Highlanders will go into their third tournament in as many weeks as they head down to Davidson, N.C. to compete in the Davidson Invitational. Action will take place Monday September 21^st and through Tuesday September 22^nd as the Highlanders will look to build off this successful tournament.
