THE BREAKDOWN
The reigning Big South Freshman of the week Leard would stay true to form as he would lead the Highlanders in play with a 215 (-1) at the Davidson Intercollegiate to finish in T-6^th place. Leard would open play with an impressive round one scorecard of three-under as the freshman scored birdies on six holes with five of them coming from the front nine. Inr ound two, he would continue his consistency with scoring a par on 17 out of 18 holes with the loan bogie coming on the par 3 177-yard hole 14. In round three Leard would have a good start as he would score a birdie on the 14^th hole followed by two more on the first and second hole. Leard would be as high as tied for 1^st place on the day, but came just short in his last two holes as he had double bogies on holes six and seven to end the day +1 and finish the tournament in sixth place.

CJ Peterson once again would go on to have the second-best score on the team as the sophomore would go on to have a score of 220 (+4) to finish in T-15^th place across the field. After two birdies on holes two and five to begin the first day of competition, Peterson would find difficulties on hole six and sixteen as he would go on to score two bogies, respectively. In round two Peterson would go on to have nearly the same performance as Leard as Peterson would score par on 16 out of 18 holes with a bogie on holes three and eleven. Round three would have Peterson correcting his error on hole 3 scoring a birdie but he would go on to have three more bogies to finish the day two-over.

Next on the team would be Gregory White as he made his debut for the Highlanders. White would open the Intercollegiate with a good first round as the freshman would be just one-under par. With birdies on five holes followed by four bogies, White would have a score of 71 as he would be second on the team heading into round two. In round two White found some difficulties as the freshman would open the first nine shooting three-over par and his struggles would continue into the back nine as he would be eight-over on the round. On the third and final round White would drastically improve with three birdies on the front nine to be three-under par, however, the back nine White would find trouble over five holes to finish two-over on the day. White would finish the Davidson Intercollegiate in T-32^nd place and third on the team.

David Goode would complete the scoring for the Highlanders finishing in T-41^st place in the field. Opening the first round being five-over and second with three-over, Goode would end day one at eight-over. After going three-over on the final round of play Goode would not be able to make any improvements to his position. Rounding out the Highlanders' team was Carter Wolfe who would go on to compete individually, as well as Will Giaquinto. Wolfe would finish in T-41^st place with his best round coming in round two as he would shoot even across the round. Giaquinto would finish in T-46^th place with his best round also coming on the second round with a score of 74.

UP NEXT
The Highlanders will have a break in play as they compete next at the Testudo Cup in Ijamsville, Maryland. Tthe first day of action is slated to started Monday, October 5^th going through Tuesday, October 6^th.
