BURLINGTON, N.C. – A combined score of -10 in the third round scorched the competition as the Radford men's golf team earned a T-3rd place finish with a late push at the Elon Phoenix Invitational on Tuesday.
Â
Making a huge 15-spot leap up the individual leaderboard was senior Bobby Dudeck, who shot a 67 in the final round to finish tied for 12th at 5-under par. The Williamsburg native notched 13 birdies across 54 holes, including six in the third round.
Â
The duo of Bryce Corbett and Patrick Gareiss shot 68 and 69 in the third round, respectively, to make a solid jump up the standings as well. Corbett excelled on Par 3's while Gareiss took full advantage of par 5's which both Highlanders tying for 16th at 4-under par.
Â
Nathan Piatt once again showed that his tough first round wasn't indicative of the high-level golf he's capable of playing, following up a second-round 70 with another 70 in the third round. His performance moved him 13 spots higher on the leaderboard, making a huge difference in Radford's top-3 finish.
Â
Jack Urban closed things out by shooting a 78 on the day.
