Men’s Tennis Racks Up Victories in Final Fall Tournament

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Radford men's tennis program finished their fall tournament schedule on a high note this past weekend at the Wake Forest Invitational with multiple student athletes earning impressive singles and doubles wins.

Opening up the weekend in doubles play was the pairing of Guilherme Severin and Charles Courteau winning the back draw of their A2 bracket. The duo initially defeated a pairing from Old Dominion 6-2 before going on to take down another big opponent in Georgia Southern 6-2 in the back draw finals.

The pairing of Robert Hagen and Filippo Marangoni would also see success. The duo advanced to the finals of the main draw in the B2 bracket. Hagen and Marangoni first defeated a pair from UNC Greensboro before taking home another win in the semifinals 6-4 over a pair from Bluefield State.

Moving on to singles play, Severin added to his already impressive weekend with another two wins. Those two victories came off familiar foes from Tennessee Tech and Georgia Southern. Hagen was able to advance to the final of his bracket with two victories, making it two main draw finals on the weekend. Courteau rounded out the impressive results with two singles wins that propelled him to the bracket finals as well before having to withdraw.
