MACON, Ga. – The Radford University women's lacrosse team closed out its road schedule on Saturday, falling by a 18-2 score line at Mercer.
The Bears came out of the gates strong, scoring all seven goals of the first quarter. The hosts added five goals in the second frame to go up by double digits at the break.
Radford responded to start the second half as
Margaret Gleason scored off a feed from
Ashlyn Grogan to put the Highlanders on the board. After a trio of goals from Mercer, Gleason and Grogan connected again as Gleason found the back of the net for the second time; the Brentwood, Tenn. native extended her scoring streak to 14 games.
Gleason paced the Highlanders' offense with two goals. Grogan tallied both assists. Junior goalkeeper
Olivia Hunter had a busy day between the pipes, recording nine saves.
