Ekanem’s Three-Set Win Highlights Match at Campbell

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The Radford women's tennis program fell to a tough Campbell squad Thursday afternoon 6-1 but freshman Rachel Ekanem picked up the highlight of the afternoon with a big three-set victory.

In doubles play the two squads were tightly contested as Camryn McClure and Lexi Smolder picked up a quality victory 6-3 on court three. Campbell would take the doubles point with wins on the top two courts for the early lead.

While the Camels would take the match in singles play, the Highlanders had a pair of meetings go three sets. Emily Brandow was narrowly edged out in her battle on court two as she just missed a comeback 3-6, 7-6(5), 0(7)-1. Ekanem had the big win of the evening on court five as she completed her comeback attempt 2-6, 6-3, 1-0(8) for her first Big South win.
