Wagner Earns First Player of the Week Award

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Big South Conference announced Monday afternoon that Olivia Wagner has been named Player of the Week after her historic performance over Radford's two wins last week.

In Wagner's first action since Dec. 17 due to injury, the sophomore thrived leading Radford to a pair of victories with some sharp three-point shooting. Against Winthrop, Wagner dropped a career-high 23 points thanks to 7-for-7 three-point shooting becoming the second Big South player to ever shoot a perfect mark that high and the first in Radford's history to do so. Against Winthrop, Wagner reached double figures scoring once again with a trio of three-pointers in the second half to lead an eventual comeback win.

The weekly award is a well-earned first in Wagner's impressive Radford career so far. Among the team the awards mark the eighth weekly award from the conference office this season.

Wagner and the Highlanders are currently preparing for their next bout of conference action on the road this Wednesday, January 17th, at Gardner-Webb. Tip is set for 7 p.m. with all action being streamed on ESPN+.
