RADFORD, Va. – The Radford men's soccer program drew 1-1 against VMI Wednesday night at Cupp Stadium.

The Highlanders were the ones that would open the scoring early in today's fixture after scoring in the 18th minute to take an early lead. The Highlanders would continue to mount the pressure on VMI for the rest of the half, but their lead would remain 1-0 heading into the half.
The Highlanders would come out in the second half with the same tempo as they closed the first half, adding nine shots to their count in the half, but were unable to find the needed goal to put this one away. The Keydets were eventually able to crack through the stout Highlander defense and score the equalizer in the 89th minute of the match, ending this one in a 1-1 draw.
HEAD COACH BARRETT QUOTABLE
"I thought we played really well tonight, and this was a game we should have won. We created many quality chances that we have to finish in order to finish teams off with more goals. Give VMI credit, they never stopped playing hard and we knew they would be a tough opponent. We are making strides every day to improve for our conference games coming up. We have a great group of guys who I know will bounce back and be ready for a very good Presbyterian team at home this Saturday for Homecoming." - Chris Barrett

The Highlanders will remain home at Cupp Stadium to face Presbyterian for senior day on Saturday, October 5th. That matchup is set for a 2 PM start time and will be streamed on ESPN+
