RADFORD, Va. – The Radford men's soccer program fell 3-1 to a strong Winthrop side in their final home game of the 2024 season.

In the first half, both Radford and Winthrop were able to create multiple chances at goal from the beginning. The Eagles, however, were able to find themselves on the board first at the 32nd minute to take the 1-0 lead. After a yellow card was given to a Winthrop player, the Highlanders were set up just outside the penalty box. Carson Danner would be the one to answer the call as he would send a strike through the top left to tie the score at 1-1 in the final 11 seconds of the half.
A goal by Winthrop in the 60th minute of the second half would see them reclaim their lead. The Eagles would distance themselves after securing their third goal of the day in the 66th minute. The Highlanders would keep searching for attempts at goal but the scoreline would remain at 3-1 in favor of Winthrop at the final whistle.

The Highlanders will travel to Farmville, Va. To face Longwood for their final fixture of the 2024 season on Saturday, November 2nd with a 2 PM start time and will be streamed on ESPN+.
