RADFORD, Va. - The Radford men's basketball program continued its hot start and made it four straight wins with a 96-50 victory over Southern Virginia inside the Dedmon Center on Monday night.
It was yet another complete team effort as the Highlanders saw 12 different student-athletes score at least two points and all 13 that entered the contest made a contribution on the stat sheet. RU also finished with five student-athletes in double-figures in scoring.
Radford, who improved to 4-1 on the young year, continues its best start to a season in seven years. It is the best beginning to a campaign since the Highlanders went on a 4-1 run (which turned into a 6-1 start overall) to begin the 2018-19 season.
The Highlanders led this one from wire-to-wire with a strong 51-23 edge in the opening half, followed by a 45-27 advantage in the second to cruise to a 96-50 win.
With another strong scoring outburst, Radford has now scored 92-plus points in back-to-back games for the first time since the 2008-09 season (when the Highlanders dropped 94 and 108 in the Big South semifinal and championship to advance to the NCAA Tournament).
It is also the first time since 1992-93 that Radford has scored at least 87 points in four consecutive games.
