SALT LAKE CITY – The Radford men's basketball program suffered a hard-fought, 81-63 setback against the Big 12's Utah inside the Huntsman Center on Saturday evening.
The loss snapped a five-game winning streak for the Highlanders that dated all the way back to November 25.
Radford took an early 3-2 lead less than two minutes into the contest and the Utes held a slight 6-5 edge before they ripped off a 16-2 run to take a 22-7 advantage with 12:19 left in the opening half.
Like they have all season, there was no quit in the Highlanders however, as after some more back-and-forth, Radford answered with a 12-1 run of its own to make it 27-24 with 6:51 remaining in the first.
The two sides would enter the locker room with Utah up 40-31.
The Highlanders would get as close as 57-46 with 10:21 left to play, after another 8-0 run, but it was all Utes from that point on as they closed out the 81-63 victory.
