STATESBORO, Ga. - The Radford Baseball program dropped the series finale after early struggles against Georgia Southern would prove costly as the Highlanders would ultimately fall 12-4 Sunday afternoon at J.I. Clements Stadium.
Early in today's series finale, with bases loaded the Eagles would walk in two runs and a hit by pitch would bring in a third in the first inning. For the second the Eagles would add on another run making the score 4-0 before heading to the third. In the fourth, the Eagles would score four runs to extend their lead to 8-0.
The Highlanders would show some life in the top of the fifth as they would add three runs for themselves. A Corbin Grantham single to right field would bring in Mason Self for his second run of the season. Conner Butler would double to left center that would bring in two more for the Highlanders to add to their run total, making the score 8-3.
During the sixth inning Georgia Southern would add a single run to their lead and tack on three more in the seventh. The Highlanders would add a run to their total after Cameron Pittman would groundout to the Eagles' second baseman, although it would allow Self to reach home plate. However, that would be the last run the Highlanders would score for the evening, leaving the score 12-4 for the series finale.
