High Point Takes Series Finale From Highlanders

HIGH POINT, N.C. - The Radford baseball team fell to High Point in game three of the series after High Point was able to score two runs late in the game to edge the Highlanders by a 3-2 final score on Saturday evening at Williard Stadium.

In the second inning of the series finale, High Point would get things started as they would add on a single run to find themselves with the early 1-0 lead before heading to the third. Gavin Troutman would respond for the Highlanders as he would find home off an error to tie things right back up in the third inning. Troutman continued with his impressive performance with a solo shot home run to left field that would give Radford the 2-1 lead heading to the sixth.

However, in the sixth, the Panthers would level the score as they singled up the middle to tack on the run. High Point would take the lead in the seventh as a bases loaded hit by pitch would bring in their last runner of the day. The Highlanders would garner momentum in the eighth as they were able to get two runners on bases with one in a scoring opportunity but were unable to find the play to potentially even things up. The Highlanders would be able to get a runner on first in the ninth, but it wouldn't be enough as High Point would get the third out and close things out to end game three of the series at 3-2.
