RADFORD, Va. - The Radford Baseball team fell 7-1 to UNC Asheville in game two of their weekend series Saturday evening at Sherman Carter Memorial Stadium
The first three innings would see the Highlanders lock into a pitcher's duel against UNC Asheville. Howard would shine through those innings as he would only allow one hit and was able to pick up a pair of strikeouts right after the hit to send the game to the bottom of the third. In the fourth, UNC Asheville put themselves on the board first as they were able to secure a pair of runs in the inning. In the fifth, the Bulldogs would add on to their lead as they were able to put up three more to give them the 5-0 lead.
In the sixth, Carson Bell would hit a solo shot home run to right field to put the Highlanders on the board and head to the seventh at 5-1. The Bulldogs would respond with a single run in the seventh and add one more in the ninth to extend their lead further. The Highlanders were unable to find a response in the bottom of the inning and would leave UNC Asheville taking game two at 7-1.
