JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - The Radford Baseball program dropped their Wednesday midweek game 5-2 against ETSU at Thomas Stadium.
In the first inning of the Highlanders' second midweek game this week, Conner Butler notched the first run after he homered to left field to give Radford the 1-0 lead. ETSU would tack on a run for themselves in the bottom of the inning to tie it back up at 1-1 heading to the second.
The Buccaneers plated two more in the third to take the lead. They would add one in the fourth and another in the fifth to make their lead 5-1 heading into the sixth. The Highlanders would get one back in the eighth after Conner Butler grounded out to the short stop but allowed Troutman to reach home giving Radford their second run and Butler his second RBI for the night. Stanley would enter at mound in the bottom of inning and retire the ETSU side to hold the Buccaneers at five runs and give Radford some momentum heading to the ninth. However, the Highlanders were unable to find the response needed to extend the game and finish off the game for the Highlanders at 5-2
