BOONE, N.C. – The Highlanders competed in their final regular season meet at the App State Open Friday through Saturday.
Jaylen Rosser started the weekend with a bang as she earned a new personal best in the hammer throw. Her distance of 43.09m not only earned her fifth place in the competition but tied her for ninth in the record book.
Mya Rosser also earned a personal record in this event. Jaylen continued earning PRs as she earned a new personal best in discus throw. With a distance of 34.65m, she landed in the top-15.
Rounding out the competition for the Highlanders Friday,
Chloe Wellings came in first in the 10000m with a time of 34:17.67.
Elyssia Fisher hurled herself to fifth in the long jump finishing at 5.74m to earn an outdoor PR. This also jumps her to third in Radford's record book.
Also changing her time in the record book,
Jaslyne Robinson keeps the ninth spot in the 100m hurdles coming in second at 14.54, a new personal best.
Kandace McIvor also earned her personal best in this event. Her time of 15.08 landed her in fifth place. Robinson also came in second in the 400m hurdles.
In the 400m relays,
Raichelle Cornelius ran her way to fifth place at 57.52 while
Jordan Jackson was not too far behind coming in seventh. Jackson earned this placement with a new personal best of 59.19.
The 4x100 relay consisting of Cornelius,
Sela Beatty, McIvor and
Dezmajia Carter placed fifth to earn a season best.
Additionally, the 4x400 team (Jackson, Fisher, Robinson and Cornelius) also earned a season best to come in second.
