Trio of Home Runs Not Enough as Highlanders Fall to Presbyterian in Game Two of Series

CLINTON, S.C. - The Radford Baseball team would tack on three home runs in today's game but it wouldn't be enough as the Highlanders would fall to Presbyterian Saturday evening at PC Baseball Complex after late runs by the Blue Hose would see them take game two at 8-4.

Radford would get on the scoreboard first after a solo shot by first baseman Carson Bell would give the Highlanders the 1-0 lead. The Blue Hose responded in the third as they put up three runs on the board, overtaking the Highlanders at 3-1.

For the fifth, Radford would return the favor with three runs of their own to regain their lead. A home run by Conner Butler would bring the Highlanders within one of Presbyterian. The back-to-back home runs would be executed by Ben Williams as he followed up Butler's solo shot with one of his own to knot the game at 3-3. The Highlanders would add on their third of the inning after Pittman would single through the left side to bring in Brady Whitacre for the run and give the Highlanders the one run lead.

Presbyterian would retake the lead from the Highlanders as they would add on two runs in the sixth to make it a 5-4 game. In the seventh they would add a trio of runs to push the lead to 8-4. In the ninth, the Highlanders gained momentum as Mason Self would single through the left side, reach second off a wild pitch, and Bell reached first off a walk. But the Highlanders were unable to capitalize with the two runners on bases as Presbyterian took game two at a final score of 8-4.
