RADFORD, Va. - The Radford Baseball team fell in the final midweek game of the season to VMI with a final score of 8-1 to finish nonconference play Tuesday night at Sherman Carter Memorial Stadium.
VMI would open the scoring in tonight's final midweek game, putting up two runs in the first inning to give themselves the early lead. VMI would go on to add four more runs in the second inning to push their lead and make it a 6-0 game heading into the third.
In the fourth, the Highlanders would get one back after Gavin Troutman would single to right field to score Hunter Keen to make it a 6-1 game heading into the fifth. The Highlanders would keep the Keydets scoreless in the fifth, sixth, and seventh innings but, in the eighth, VMI would put up their final two runs of tonight's game that would lead to their eventual 8-1 win over the Highlanders in the final midweek game for Radford of the 2024 season.

The Highlanders will return home to Sherman Carter Memorial Stadium on Thursday, May 16 to face Longwood for the final conference series of the 2024 regular season. Game one of the series is set for a 6 P.M. start and will be live streamed on ESPN+.
