Highlanders Take 6th Out of 11 Teams at The River Run Collegiate

DAVIDSON, N.C. – A pair of top-15 efforts from Channing Blevins and Tate Corbett help the Radford men's golf program place 6th through 36 holes of this year's shortened two round River Run collegiate

Graduate student Channing Blevins would lead the efforts for the Highlanders. In the first round of the River Run collegiate he would finish round one with a 73 (+1). The Wytheville, Va. native would come back in the second round with his best round, notching a 71 (-1) highlighted by his five birdies. Through his two rounds of work, he placed 6th on the player leaderboard.

Newcomer Tate Corbett who made his debut as a Highlander would follow closely behind, placing a tie for 11th on the player leaderboard. Corbett would go 75 (+3) in round one of the event. However, he would bounce back with a 72 (E) that would shoot him up eleven spots that would get him in the tie for 11th.

Louie Stott would finish at 6 over after the 36-holes posting a 79-71. Stott's second round of the River Run Collegiate would prove to be huge as his five birdies would send him up 20 spots to be placed in a tie for 26th and would be just one less stroke shy of a top 20 finish on the player leaderboard.

Kieran McCarthy would go on to finish round one with a 76 (+4). He would improve on his first-round results, recording a 75 (+3) with two birdies on his scorecard.

Bobby Dudeck and Jack Urban would complete the Highlander lineup at the River Run Collegiate. Dudeck would go 10 over after the two rounds, posting a 79-75. Urban would finish his time on the course with an 81-77.

The Highlanders will have about a month's rest before heading down to Elon, N.C. to participate in the Elon Phoenix Invitational on Monday, October 14 and will run through Tuesday, October 15.
