Men’s Golf Places Top Five at Elon Phoenix Invitational

BURLINGTON, N.C. – The Radford Men's Golf program used a strong second and third round this week at the Elon Phoenix Invitational to place top five in a competitive field.

Leading Radford's efforts at the Alamance Country Club was Louie Stott who placed tied for 11th individually performing five-under overall. In the opening round of action, Stott used four birdies to finish 1-under. After a solid second round, Stott finished strong on Tuesday with his best round of the tournament thanks to five birdies and an eagle finishing 4-under.

CJ Peterson continued his strong start to the Fall thanks to a big second round that saw him finish tied for 29th individually. The freshman tallied five birdies in round two for his best round of the week to eventually finish 1-under. Just behind him was Tate Corbett who had one of his better showings of the Fall so far thanks to another impressive second round. Corbett played similar to Peterson, finishing with three birdies and an eagle finishing three-under in the round before completing the tournament at par tied for 32nd.

Rounding out the Highlanders scoring performances was Kieran McCarthy who placed in the top half of the pack at T-46th. Will Giaquinto also competed individually for the Highlanders, placing tied for 67th.
