McCarthy and Peterson Earn Big South Golfers of the Week Awards

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Big South Conference announced Thursday afternoon that Kieran McCarthy and CJ Peterson have been named the men's Golfer of the Week and the men's Freshman of the Week, respectively, after their strong outings last weekend at the Carolina Cup.

McCarthy finished third at The Carolina Cup (par 72, 6,929 yards) with a 1-under par 215 (72-72-71) for his second-straight Top 3 finish. He was the tournament leader with 14 birdies and added an eagle on his scorecard.

Peterson tied for sixth at The Carolina Cup with a 4-over 220 (75-73-72) and was the Highlanders' second-highest finisher for the second consecutive tournament. He drained 11 birdies and was 2-under on the par-5 layouts in recording his first collegiate Top 10 finish.

Radford returns to action on October 13th at the Elon Phoenix Invitational. Action runs through October 14th at the Alamance Country Club in Burlington, N.C.
