Ryno and Sloss Earn Big South All-Conference Awards

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Big South Conference announced Wednesday afternoon the all-conference awards list which included Olivia Ryno (all-freshman) and Rylee Sloss (all-academic) for their impressive seasons.

Ryno had one of the more electric debuts by a Highlander freshman in recent memory and earned her spot on the conference's all-freshman list. The newcomer was a leader for Radford's offense, finishing the season with 199 kills (2.73 per set) totaling 221.5 points which ranked third most on the team. Ryno eclipsed 10 kills in a match 10 times this season, including a season best 22 kills in a big win over Winthrop. Ryno also found her defensive rhythm as the season went on, recording 10+ digs in three conference contests.

Sloss was named to the Big South's all-academic team after her great showing both on and off the court for the Highlanders. Moving into a new role, she was a team leader on the offensive end with 194 kills and a team-best 2.75 kills per set. Sloss will be graduating early this spring with her major in communications and a 3.89 GPA.

Sloss is an active team leader and most recently this past summer interned with the Strategic Communications Team at AccessU in Roanoke. While there she helped on various projects while most notably being involved in the grand opening of the Melrose Plaza.

The Highlanders are currently preparing for the upcoming Big South Tournament which kicks off this Friday, November 21st. Hosted by High Point, Radford gets started in the Quarterfinals against the third-seed Charleston Southern at 6 p.m. on ESPN+.
