Four Volleyball Student-Athletes Selected for College Sports Communications Academic All-District Awards

RADFORD, Va. – College Sports Communicators announced Tuesday afternoon that four Radford volleyball student-athletes including Miranda Howard, Sierra Moore, Aubrey Hatch and Lea Gage have all been named to Academic All-District for their impressive work both on and off the court as Highlanders this past season.

To become eligible to earn the distinction, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore athletically and academically, compete in 90 percent of the institution's matches played or at least started in 66 percent of matches played, and have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA. Only about 3% of all student-athletes at the Division I level are eligible to earn the award.

Miranda Howard earns the academic all-district nod after an incredible senior campaign that solidified her name in Radford's record books. Just recently graduating this winter with her degree in Biology, Howard finished her Radford career with 1,126 career digs earning four single season top 10 records in her junior and senior seasons. She earned her first postseason award in 2025, being named to the Big South All-Tournament team for her efforts that helped Radford advance to the Big South semifinals.

Sierra Moore also just wrapped up an impressive career with Radford, earning an impressive 3.74 GPA as an Allied Health Sciences major. Moore played multiple roles and was a consistent leader for Radford this past season, contributing massively to the defensive end with a career high of 222 digs. All the while, Moore continued to be one of Radford's best servers with 37 aces on the season, finishing with 80 in her career which ranks top 10 in program history.

The beat went on for Aubrey Hatch in her sophomore season with the Highlanders as she was once again of Radford's biggest hitting threats. Earning a 3.65 GPA so far towards her Psychology degree at Radford, Hatch followed up her all-freshman performance in 2024 with 197 kills in 2025 which ranked third most on the team. Her 55 blocks and .180 hitting clip also ranked third best on the team. In a pivotal match at Gardner-Webb, she contributed a career high 15 kills and 17 points.

Lea Gage rounds out Radford's CSC All-Academic All-District awards thanks to her strong classroom work and major contributions to Radford's offense in 2025. Sharing the setter duties, Gage led the team overall this season with 525 assists averaging over 5 per set. Her 29 service aces also ranked second most on the team while she also contributed 50 kills on a .313 hitting clip. Appearing in 99 more matches compared to her brief action in her freshman campaign, Gage set the tone for what's to come in her Radford career with career highs across the board.
