Highlanders Stung by Yellow Jackets

ATLANTA – The Radford women's basketball team ran into a wasp's nest of a power opponent, dropping an 82-36 decision to Georgia Tech at McCamish Pavilion on Thursday morning.

KEY STATS
  • Radford held Georgia Tech to a 24% shooting percentage in the first half (6-25), the first time the Yellow Jackets had been held under 30% shooting in a half since Jan. 26, 2025 vs. Duke.
  • All 14 Highlanders saw action for the first time this season.
  • It's the first time Radford has been held under 50 points since Dec. 14, 2024 at Virginia Tech.
PLAY BY PLAY
Radford hung around with their hosts out of the gates. Georgia Tech opened on a 5-0 run, but an Angelina Nice trifecta broke the ice three minutes in. Later in the quarter, Adelyn Traylor-Walker drilled a three and then made a nice dribble-drive basket to tie things at 10-10. The Yellow Jackets added the final few points to lead 13-10 after one.

Though Radford's defense kept up the pressure, Georgia Tech stepped up to stifle the Highlanders in the second quarter. The Yellow Jackets finished the first half on a 13-0 run and led 24-10 into the break.

It was a track meet for Georgia Tech in the second half, outscoring Radford 58-26 to win by a large margin.
