Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Men’s Basketball tripped up in the final seconds in tough-luck loss to Winthrop

ROCK HILL, S.C. – The Radford men's basketball program put together another hard-fought effort, but in the end the Highlanders found themselves on the wrong side of a 78-74 decision to host Winthrop in a highly entertaining Big South battle inside Winthrop Coliseum on Wednesday night.

The Highlanders led by as much as nine in the second half, but the Eagles just stuck around and found a way to escape with the victory at the end in a defensive battle between conference foes.

FINAL SCORE: Radford – 74, Winthrop – 78
LOCATION: Winthrop Coliseum (Rock Hill, South Carolina)

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Zion Walker and Jarvis Moss led the Highlanders with 17 points apiece, respectively.
- Walker scored one point for every one of his 17 minutes played in the contest. He shot 6-of-9 from the field (.667), 1-of-3 from three (.333) and a near perfect 4-of-5 at the line (.800). - Truth Harris was the third Highlander in double-digits with 10 points. He also finished with the team-best in rebounds (five), assists (three) and steals (three).
- Brandon Maclin (two boards, two helpers), Josiah Harris (four rebounds, two blocks, one swipe), Jonas Sirtautas (four boards) and Chace Davis all chipped in six points apiece.
- Radford finished with an eye-popping 31 bench points and 28 points in the paint.
- The game featured just four lead changes and three times the contest was tied.
