RADFORD,
Va. - The Radford women's lacrosse used a high powered offense Saturday afternoon for a comfortable 18-3 win against Delaware State.
KEY STATS
- Radford outshot Delaware State in this afternoon's contest with Radford recording 33 to the Hornets 22. Of those 33 shots taken by the Highlanders 24 of them would be on goal.
- Nine different Highlanders had at least one goal. Madison Driscoll would lead Radford with four goals. With today's game, Driscoll has surpassed her last season goal count of three.
- The Highlanders recorded a total of eight saves between its two goalkeepers, LaManna and Landes.
PLAY BY PLAY
Today's cold and stormy weather seemed to have not bothered the Highlanders this afternoon as they would get off to an explosive start in the first period.
Hannah Hanger and
Riley Dundee would provide the courtesy of giving Radford two quick goals in the first two minutes of the game for the lead.
Kaitlyn Lytton would tack on another around the 10-minute mark to make it 3-0 in favor of the Highlanders.
Delaware State were able to cut the lead back down to two with a goal a little past the halfway mark. But Radford would retaliate with another three-goal run by

Alyssa Yost and Freshman
Maggie Wisniewski to make it a 6-1 game heading into the second.
The Highlanders would have their best period in the second completely dominating the Delaware State side. The Highlanders would open their scoring in the same fashion as the first with Hanger followed by Dundee and Lytton to secure their second goals of the game to make it a 9-1 lead. Hanger would secure her hat-trick midway through the second to put Radford in double digits.
The Highlanders would close out the period with three more goals with Yost securing her second and
Madison Driscoll snagging her first two of the season to make it a 13-1 game at the half.
Freshman
Cassidy Deierlein would record her first goal of her career to open scoring for the Highlanders in the third period. The Hornets would get one back with 5 minutes left play but the Highlanders would were able to carve out two more before the period end to make it a commanding 16-2 game.
Driscoll and Wisniewski would secure the final two goals for the Highlanders in the fourth while Delaware State were able to get away one more but the victory would ultimately go to the Highlanders would secure a comfortable 18-3 win.
AROUND THE BIG SOUTH
- Mercer fell 11-7 to Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Va.
- High Point would defeat former conference rival Campbell 15-10.
