PLAY BY PLAY
The Highlanders and Panthers entered Wednesday's meeting atop the standings and as two of the hottest shooting teams in the Big South. The first quarter wound up a defensive battle, however, as both teams totaled just 12 points through the opening 10 minutes. Williams, Carlson and Adriana Shipp-Davis would have the early makes for Radford in a 6-6 tie.

High Point would score seven of the first ten points in the second quarter only broken up by a three pointer from Napper. Down 15-11, Radford went to work in the middle 10 minutes of the game. A layup by Adelyn Traylor-Walker sparked a big run for Radford as Carlson, Makayla Firebaugh and and Carlson again with a three put Radford ahead 20-15.

A three ball by Williams pushed Radford up further and it was Angelina Nice who capped the solid run with a put-back layup. Up 25-20 through one half, the Highlanders kept the momentum into the second. Traylor-Walker again sparked the offense with a three while Napper sealed an and-one to put Radford up 33-25.

Back-to-back threes by Carlson and Traylor-Walker made it an 11-2 run and now a 39-27 Highlanders lead. The two squads would trade points to finish the third quarter, setting up a fun finish with Radford leading 48-38.

The Panthers would score five quick points to make it a seven-point game with just eight minutes to go. Carlson had the response, though, making back-to-back layups to push the lead back to 54-43.

With five minutes to go, Radford's defense saved its best for last. High Point scored at the 4:52 mark to make it a 58-48 game but would not score the rest of the way. Thanks to an impressive defensive run, the offense kept rolling to the tune of a dominant 65-48 final.
